Murph 2019

Murph was awesome this year! It was great to see athletes pushing themselves to a new level. We saw some weight vests come out of the closet, some new skills being shown off, and all around a great attitude towards such a long and gruelling workout. I can’t wait to see what next year brings!

Movement Seminar Recap

Thank you to everyone that came out to the movement seminar. We started with a movement assessment so participants could get a better understanding of how our bodies move, where we are tight and how that can affect our performance in and outside the gym.   Each of us moves differently and its important to find what works best for us as individuals.  Mobility and stability work can often be skipped over when we don’t understand why we are doing it or we just “don’t have time.”  When we understand what we need as individuals to help move better and how proper movement can help us improve performance and quality of life – we are often a lot more motivated to fit it into our daily routine.


CFPC 5k Fun Run

CFPC is hosting a fun run!! As a wind up for our Running Club, we will be hosting a 5km fun run open to EVERYONE.  Good for the whole family! It will start at the gym at 5:30pm.  Meet at the back door (by the Spray Park).

Everyone who attends will get a FREE CFPC pair of Sunglasses!

Please note, this is unofficial run. The trail will not be flagged, intersections are not controlled and there are no water stations. You are running/jogging/walking at your own risk.

CFPC Golf Day

CFPC is having a Golf Day! Anyone can come and join in on the fun, even if you’ve never golfed before! This will be a very casual event. Tee-times are booked. We will split into groups of 4 and each group can decide if they want to play traditionally or best-ball or whatever.  Then we’ll have some drinks at the clubhouse and see where our afternoon goes from there.

Golf course rules are no tanks and everyone must have their own clubs (you can rent if needed). Regular golf fees and cart rentals apply.  Each golfer can pay the clubhouse when we check in.  Everyone should try to come around 2:00 so we have time to pay and sort ourselves out before our tee times.

Anyone who wants to golf MUST be signed up on the sheet at the fountain by June 6th.


Summer Games

CFPC is hosting the Strength & Conditioning competition for the Southern Alberta Summer Games! Registration deadline is Friday, June 14th! Price is $20 and the entry forms are printed off and sitting on the table beside the couch here at the gym. Just take one, fill it out, and give it to the rec office (the office across from the gym). Everyone can participate; we even have a kids division!

If you’re not interested in competing but would still like to help out, we need volunteers! We have also printed Volunteer forms out and they are also sitting on the table beside the couch in the gym.


Apparel & Stuff

We are considering doing another apparel order. If you want anything, LET US KNOW! We are also bringing in some new cool swag stuff… keep your eyes open!

YETI

We are looking into getting personalized CFPC Yeti mugs! We will have forms above the fountain with more information and specs if you want to order one. These are not cheap – BUT totally worth it. (IMHO)


Our Programs – Summer 2019

  • Cross-train Program – Our main program; offered 6x a week.
  • Cross-train Lite Program – This is a great class to suggest to anyone interested in Cross-training as it gives them a taste of what we do without any super technical movements. Monday & Wednesday @ 9:00 am and Tuesday & Thursday @ 6:30pm.
  • Barbell Club – Free for CFPC members. Wednesday’s @ 6:30pm and Saturdays @ 10:00am
  • Kids Programs – Ages 8-12 on Tuesday @ 4pm –> This class is by registration only and is ending June 30th, 2019.
  • Personal Programming & Personal Training – For those athletes with special circumstances (such as injuries, disabilities, etc.) or those looking to spend extra time improving on deficiencies. Can be taken on it’s own or paired with our regular Program.
  • Nutrition Coaching – One-on-one coaching to help you achieve your ideal body composition and performance goals.
